AGM 2020

The goal of the AGM 2020 is to celebrate institutional partnerships that demonstrate consolidating contribution and endeavour, and to explore transnational collaborative research, transnational education and university-industry-research collaboration post covid-19. 

Led by the University of Liverpool, Southeast University (JS chair) and Jiangsu University (JS secretariat), supported by British Council and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the AGM is a joint effort by 48 consortium members and by the supporting organisations that promote UK-Jiangsu relations.

Because of the 8-hour time difference, it was split over 2 days (Thursday and Friday) on 5th and 6th Nov. UK joined virtually and Jiangsu gathered in Changzhou Science Park. Staff and students from member universities enjoyed free entry to the AGM. 

According to the platform data, there were 532,338 hits for the live broadcast on the day. It has been reported by Xinhua Daily, ChinaNews, Sohu,  Sina, ScienceNet, China Science Daily, Jiangsu TV, etc. 

5 universities, including University of Liverpool, University of Reading, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Information, Science and Technology and Jiangsu University signed agreements at the opening ceremony on 5th Nov.  

The UKJS2020 International Technology Transfer Centre was establish in Changzhou Science Park with strong local policy and funding support, providing a great opportunity for UK academics to commercialise research findings. To attract oversea talents and experts, the municipal district fund scheme offers over 1 million RMB (equivalent to GBP 110,000) to any venture established by UK leading talents.
